Pick Jesus

My Experience in Christ - Pick Jesus

If you could pick one person and WANT TO model your life to be like his or hers, who would you choose? Who is your role model?

My Experience in Christ

Role models are everywhere. You can choose your role models easily through television, movies, books, sports, schools, churches, social media, military services, and even in the household etc.
I’ve had a few role models, but none greater than my parents. My father  being a Pastor of a Church, an honest, hard-working, and humble man.

He is still alive and sharing the love of Gospel. When I was childhood I said to my father, “Dad, when I grow up, I will be like you. And ” Sometimes, I wonder what it would be very helpful for me if my dad is near to me but as I am putting up in a different place for my livelihood and studies.

He is someone I can have looked up to even to this day.
We must be careful when choosing a role model. Humans are not perfect and they make errors. Even the perfect role model makes errors because to err is human.

But there is one perfect role model, not only for Christians, but also for others. He is Jesus Christ.
We have met Him through the Word of God. We can feel his presence through the works of people and can see that they want to be like Jesus.

My Experience in Christ - Pick Jesus

Philippians 2:5-8: “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness, and being found in appearance as a man, humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross.”

Jesus says to us that we should learn from him. He is gentle and humble. He cared for those in need. He helped the helpless. He healed the sick. He cleansed the leper. He preached and taught about the good news, which is God’s love.

To be like Jesus, you must first know who you are. You must know your limitations. You must know and acknowledge that you are weak. You must know and acknowledge that you are a sinner. After admitting and accepting that this is your state, then you can truly know about God’s love.

When you know about God’s love, you will have peace in your heart. You will have a peace in your heart that is so soothing, so strong, and so awesome that you cannot contain it! It’s a peace within that you cannot hide, a peace that you cannot help but to share with others.

Matthew 11:29 (Jesus speaking): “Take my yoke upon yourself and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul.”
Even though we cannot see him, we know he is with us in spirit. He wants us to be like him.

Conclusion

He wants us to be the reflection of him. With the peace he gives you, you will be able to be the light of the world.

The only way to share this peace is to share His word to those around you.
Will you model your life to be humble like Jesus? Will you share this peace?
